KARACHI: Internet users will expect to experience slow browsing due to repair work on SEA-ME-WE-4, an international sub-marine cable consortium, connecting Pakistan and other countries to the West.
Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited announced that their submarine cable system suffered a fault near Italy.
PTCL informed that a cable repair ship has been mobilized by the consortium to carry out the repair operation of the faulty segment.
During this repair work western section of the cable system beyond Alexandria (Egypt) will remain out of service for some days.
PTCL has started operation to shift the internet traffic on its alternate cable system SEA-ME-WE-3 and the eastern segment of SEA-ME-WE-4 which are in full working condition.—DawnNews
